ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENLISTMENT INTO THE NIGERIAN NAVY DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION COURSE 24

Applications are hereby invited from suitable and qualified Nigerians for enlistment into the Nigerian Navy through the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 24 in the underlisted departments:
 DEPARTMENTSENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
1.CHAPLAINApplicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a registered institution of theology from either of the following:
  • Catholic Mission
  • Protestant Mission
Applicants must have completed one year apprenticeship in Apostolic Ministry and recommended from the pastoral missions. CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE APPLICATION
  1. Applicants are warned against giving false information or tendering fake certificates. Any false information or fake certificates discovered at any stage will lead to disqualification and subsequent prosecution of the applicant.

NIGERIAN AIRFORCE DSSC 2016 RECRUITMENT

APPLICATION GUIDELINES                

  1. Nationality:
    Applicant must be of Nigerian origin.
  2. Age:
    Applicants must be between the ages 22 and 35 years by 31 December 2016.
  3. Marital Status:
    All applicants must be single.
  4. Height:
    Minimum height is 1.68 meters or 5.5ft for males and 1.65m or 5.4ft for females.
  5. Medical Fitness:
    All applicants must be medically fit and meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.

  6. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

  7. Interested applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class Lower division for holders of the first degree and Lower Credit for HND holders. In addition applicants must possess credit in English Language and Mathematics and 3 additional credits in subjects related to degree course of study. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
  8. Applicants must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption from NYSC at the time of applying for DSSC.
  9. Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria where applicable.
  10. Attestation Forms:
    Applicant's attestation form must be signed by a military officer from the same state as the applicant and not below the rank of Squadron Leader or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, and Police Officer of the rank of Assistant CP and above. Local Governments Chairmen/Secretaries, magistrates and principals of government Secondary Schools from applicants' state of origin can also sign the attestation forms. The signees passport photograph and either photocopy of drivers licence or international passport must be attached. In addition, applicants are to bring with them a letter of attestation of good character from any of the officers above to the Zonal Enlistment Centers and final selection interview.

  1. FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS

  2. Applicants will be required to submit for scrutiny, the original copies of the documents at the enlistment centers and during the final selection interview. Applicants will be required to present following documents if selected for the zonal enlistment test:

    1. Two recent passport size photographs to be stamped and counter signed by officer of appropriate rank specified, Local Government Chairmen/Secretaries and other specified officers in Paragraph 8.

    2. Photocopies of Educational Certificates.

    3. Indigenship certificate from applicant’s State of Origin.

  3. Any applicant suspected to have impersonated or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the selection exercise. Also, any false declaration detected later may lead to withdrawal from training. Such applicants may be handed over to the Police for prosecution. The Nigerian Air Force will not entertain any enquiries in respect of applicants whose applications have been rejected. Interested applicants are to note that the online registration is free of charge. Applicants are required to fill valid email addresses and Telephone numbers in the appropriate spaces provided in the application form.

    The NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY (NDA), Kaduna 68th Regular Course ADMISSION



    REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS OF THE NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY

    1. To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA),
    a candidate must have the following:
    a. Minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC or NECO) or GCE ‘O’
    Level obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of
    their choices.
     b. Credit in English Language and Mathematics.
    c. At least two supporting relevant credits to the compulsory credits
    in Faculty of Military Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of
    Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science.  However, only one
    supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.
    d. Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old as at the
    month of August in the year of entry into the Academy (2016).  Note
    that candidates who desire to join the Nigerian Air Force must be
    between 17 and 18 years old at entry, and also the Nigerian Army has
    suspended the enlistment of female candidates in her Regular
    Combatant programme in NDA.
    e. Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.58 metres
    for female.
    f. Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral
    character.
    g. Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support
    any child or other individuals.
    h. Present a Certificate of State of Origin obtained from a Local
    Government Area or a Certificate of State Indigeneship from the Office
    of the State Governor.

    2. Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:
    a. Candidates awaiting results are not qualified.  Application forms
    submitted without results will not be accepted.
    b. Only examination results of  5 years old from the date of
    examination will be accepted.
    c. Currently, admission into the Academy is for both  male and
    female Nigerians only, and is limited to Navy and Air Force in the case
    of female candidates.

    Please read through the Requirements Section before continuing with the
    application.
    1.  Accessing the Home Portal
    a. Using any browser of your choice, preferably (google chrome,
    Mozilla firefox) go to http://www.ndaapplications.net and wait for the
    portal to load.
    b. If you are visiting the site for the first time, click on the Purchase
    Access Code, fill in your details as required via REMITA then click
    NEXT to obtain your ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference
    (RRR) Code..
    c. Click on Pay with Remita after which you would be redirected to
    Remita’s site to make payment.
    (1) Follow the instructions on the site for online payment after
    which you would be returned to the  sign up page on the
    Application Portal to create your login profile, or
    (2) Click on Print Invoice to print your details and pay at a
    bank.  Go back to the Application Portal to
    http://www.ndaapplications.net and click on  Create
    Account/Login, on the Login page select Sign Up Here to create
    your account profile entering all the required details including
    the RRR Code.
    d. If you have previously created an account then click on Create
    Account/Login and then login using your registered  Email and
    Password previously created.
    e. If you have previously created credentials protocol but have
    forgotten your Password, click on Create Account/Login and then on
    Recover Password link to take you to the password recovery page to
    recover your password.
    2.  Creating your Credentials (Sign Up)
     a. All the fields on this page are compulsory.

    b. You must provide your full name, functional email address with
    password and mobile number.
    c. Your password and confirm password must be the same and it
    must contain at least 6 characters preferably with  a combination of
    alphabets and numbers.
    d. The portal will respond with a success message if you have
    successfully created your credential data and redirect you to the Log
    In Page automatically.
    e. If for any reason you are not successful with the Sign Up, please
    try again.
    3.  Log In
    a. On the Login Page, provide the email and password that was
    used to create your credential protocol, and click Log In.
    b. This Action will authenticate the User before redirecting you to
    the Application Form.
    c. If the email and password provided are wrong, the application
    will respond with an error message and request for another.
    4.  Filling the Application Form
    a. The Application Form Page opens as soon as you provide your
    correct credentials and it is divided into 6 sections (Personal Data,
    Schools Attended, Qualifications Obtained, Choice of Service,
    Faculty and Departments, Passport Upload).
     b.  Note that all the fields marked asterisk (*) are compulsory.
     c.  Personal Data –
    (1) The system automatically generates Application  Number
    when your application is successful.
    (2) Fill the Form in Upper Case (Capital Letters) only (e.g
    NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY).
      (3) Type in the boxes provided.
     
    (4) Select your option in Drop down boxes as provided.
      (5) Provide your Phone Numbers as (e.g 070XXXXXXXX).
      (6) Date of Birth must be filled in the format dd-mm-yyyy.
    (7) Height must be in numeric format only (e.g 170) in
    centimeters.
     d.  Schools Attended
    (1) You should provide the complete name of each school
    attended.
      (2) From and To Fields must be numeric only 4-digit year.
     e.  Qualifications Obtained –
      (1) You must provide your correct JAMB details as required.
    (2) You can only use 1 or 2 results which can be 2  different
    exams in a particular year or 2 exams done in different years or
    one single exam of any of the Exam Type.
      (3) Select your Subject and grades as applicable.
     f.  Choice of Service – You must choose 2 different options here.
    g.  Faculty and Department – Select faculty and then the
    department for the course you wish to study.   Only one option is
    available here.  It must correspond with the course you chose on
    JAMB portal.
    h.  Passport Upload – Please choose passport with a clear view of
    your face showing your two ears with a plain background.  The
    passport size should not be more than 300KB.
    i.  Save button – Use this button if you have not completed some
    parts of the Application Form.  The platform will retrieve your saved
    session when next you log in to complete the form.
    Note:  You must complete the form and Submit before the closing
    date of the application.

    j.  Submit button – Click on this button after you have provided
    all the compulsory and optional fields of the Application Form.
    (This will automatically take you to  Document Upload Form).
    Changes cannot be made to the Application Form once it is submitted.
    5.  Document Upload Form –
    The Document Upload Form must be completed, otherwise your
    application will be disqualified.
     You must upload the following documents:
    • Scanned WAEC/NECO Certificate for each of the Qualification
    submitted.
    • Scanned birth Certificate.
    • All scanned documents must not be above 300KB in size.
    Click on Submit to Complete as soon you have uploaded the
    scanned documents.
    6.  Printing Acknowledgement Form – Please print the
    Acknowledgement Form as soon as you have completed the Application as
    specified above.
    Note: The Link to Print Acknowledgment Form will be automatically
    seen after you have completed your application form and submitted
    your documents.
    7.  JAMB Result Requirement (OFFICIAL PROCESSING)
     The remaining steps will involve the Nigerian Defence Academy to
    process your application against your submitted JAMB details.
    a. You must score at least the National Cut-Off JAMB Score to
    qualify to sit for the Entrance Examination.
    b. You must sit for JAMB UTME Examination with subject
    combinations relevant to your intended Course of Study in Nigerian
    Defence Academy as provided by JAMB.
    c. Candidates for Engineering Courses must score at least 210 in
    JAMB.
    8.  Choice of Examination Centre – After the release of JAMB results
    candidates who meet the cut-off mark  will be required to log on to the
    portal and select the examination centre of their choice.   AFTER SITTING AND RELEASE OF THE NDA EXAMINATION RESULT FOR 68TH COURSE, AN SMS AND EMAIL WILL BE SENT
    TO YOU TO PRINT LGA and PARENTS/GUARDIAN ATTESTATION
    FORM.

    9.  Printing of LGA and Parents/Guardian Attestation Form – Please
    log online and Print the LGA Attestation Form and Parent/Guardian
    Attestation Form.  Follow the instruction on the Forms to complete them
    and await your invitation for final interview

    Step 1.Click on the Register button to create an account on this portal by providing a valid Email Address (which will be used as your User Name) and Password. Note: You will need your Email Address (User Name) and Password to log in next time.
    Step 2.Complete the Ratings Application form. Make sure you review your data carefully before submitting. You may log in at anytime before application closes to make changes after submission
    Step 3.Download and print a copy of your completed Application form which must include the following parts:
    1. Applicant's Declaration and Certification by Parent/Guardian form.
    2. Local Government Area Certification Form.
    3. Police Certification Form.
    4. Guarantor Form. 

    The Aptitude Test and Screening of Certificates of candidates will hold from Saturday 9 April 2016 from 8:00 am nationwide at designated centres in various states. You must come along with your printed Application form

    GENERAL INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES.
    CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING THE APPLICATION
    1. Applicants are warned against giving false information or tendering fake certificates. Any false information or fake certificates discovered at any stage will lead to disqualification and subsequent prosecution of the applicant.
    2. Applicants must possess certificates of full registration with their respective statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
    3. Male applicants must not be less than 1.70 meters tall while female applicants must not be less than 1.67 meters tall.
    4. Applicants should be between 22 and 28 years of age by 31st December 2016 except Chaplains and Imams who should not be more than 30 years. THOSE OVER 28 AND 30 YEARS AS APPLICABLE NEED NOT APPLY.
    5. Applicants will be shortlisted for qualifying Aptitude Test. Applicants are advised to check the website for a list of candidates shortlisted to participate in the Aptitude Test.
    6. Applicants without requisite qualifications need not apply.
    7. Applicants are to choose a centre of their choice for the Aptitude Test.
    8. The Aptitude Tests at the following centres:
      1. Abuja - Command Day Secondary School, Mogadishu Barracks.
      2. Bauchi - Command Day Secondary School, Shadawanka Barracks.
      3. Owerrinta - Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics School, Owerrinta.
      4. Lagos - Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo.
      5. Port-Harcourt - Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Borokiri.
      6. Sokoto - Army Day Secondary School, Giginya Barracks.
    9. Names of successful candidates at the Aptitude Test will be published in Nigerian Navy website for further screening.
    10. Applicants are to bring the following to the Aptitude Test Centres.
      1. Parent/Guardian Consent Form. 
      2. Local Government Attestation Form. 
      3. Acknowledgment Form.
      4. Photocopies of Certificates.
    Please note that any attempt to inundate the Naval Headquarters with letters from any quarters by any applicant will be viewed as a ploy to undermine the enlistment process and will lead to disqualification of such applicants.
    SUBMISSION OF FORM
    On completion of the application form, applicants are advised to click SUBMIT on the portal and print out all that are required.
